Ministry suggests expanding urea export quota by 280,000 tns

MOSCOW, Dec 17 (PRIME) -- The Industry and Trade Ministry has suggested increasing the urea export quota by 280,000 tonnes from February 1 through May 31, 2022, the authority said in a draft ruling published on the website for disclosure of legal information on Friday.

The government earlier introduced a quota on exports of nitrogen fertilizers and fertilizers containing two or three nutrients, such as nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, from December 1, 2021 through May 31, 2022. The quota is 5.9 million tonnes for nitrogen fertilizers, 5.35 million tonnes for complex fertilizers containing nitrogen. The ministry distributes licenses for exports under the non-tariff quota.

The new draft ruling encompasses an increase of the quota for nitrogen fertilizers by 280,000 tonnes and exclusion of the territories of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk people’s republics from the quota.
